When I was 10, I bought a dream dictionary (which I still own). As a kid, I had a set of tarot cards and a pendulum. I took my horoscope really seriously. I dreamt things before they happened. I saw spirits in my house. My bedroom walls were plastered in every magazine clipping I could find about Madonna and I loved dance class.
I'm still the same. Even though I'm spiritually-minded and spend my working hours connecting with guides and other dimensions, my feet are on the ground. I'm a hippie in sheep's clothing.

REIKI 1 / SHODEN
Looking for a simple spiritual or healing practice to enhance your life? This is the foundational level in the Reiki training series.
You'll learn about the origins, history, and principles of Reiki. You'll receive a deeply healing attunement that awakens your connection to Source, activates your third eye and your healing hands, and enables you to channel Reiki energy.
We practice a self-healing session together and, if you can have someone available in your home, have a guided practice treatment on another.
After this class, you'll be able to practice self-healing as well as share it with others.
You'll receive a manual and a certificate that will enable you to join some professional Reiki associations and get professional insurance.
To support your continued success with Reiki, you'll receive 21 days of emails from me after class with prompts and suggestions to help you to integrate Reiki into your life. You'll also be invited to join my private Facebook group where you can ask me any questions you have and receive continued support from me and from your peers.
In essence, Reiki is a spiritual experience and practice. For many, this is a life-changing training, opening possibilities and purpose.

REIKI 2 / OKUDEN
Already taken a Reiki 1 training and ready to take it to the next level? This is the deepening level in the Reiki training series.
You'll learn about the three sacred Reiki symbols used by Mikao Usui.
The first symbol is connected to earth energy and serves to amplify Reiki energy and protect.
The second symbol is connected to heavenly energy and supports with emotional healing.
The third symbol is connected to oneness energy and enables us to bypass the concepts of space and time and send Reiki by distance.
You'll receive an attunement to deepen your connection to source and be a more open channel for Reiki.
We practice sending distant Reiki to each other and, if you can have someone available in your home, have a guided practice treatment on another incorporating the symbols.
After this training you'll be able to send Reiki to friends, family and clients in any location, as well as send Reiki to past and future events.
This training will give you the skills and knowledge you need to become a professional Reiki practitioner (although there are no rules so this is not a practitioner training, there is no such thing in the system of Reiki).
You'll receive a manual and a certificate that will enable you to join some professional Reiki associations and get professional insurance.

This is the final level in the Reiki training series.
You'll learn the Master symbol, how to give attunements and teach all three levels of Reiki. I also include in my training an in-depth review of the topics covered in the earlier trainings so you leave feeling like an expert worthy of the title Master.
You'll receive an attunement to deepen your connection to source and be a more open channel for Reiki.
We practice giving attunements to each other and, if you have someone available in your home who would like to receive one you can practice on them too.
After this training you'll be able to call yourself a Reiki Master, enhancing your reputation as a practitioner.
You'll receive a manual and a certificate that will enable you to join professional Reiki associations and get professional insurance. You'll also be invited to join my private Facebook group where you can ask me any questions you have and receive continued support from me and from your peers.

WHERE IT COMES FROM
It was developed by Mikao Usui in 1922 in Japan following an enlightenment experience he had that also gave him powerful healing abilities. He created a method for harnessing and using that energy, known as Usui Reiki Ryoho (Usui's Reiki Method) that is predominantly a practice for personal growth and spiritual development.
Reiki got developed further by Usui's successors after he died and most of the Reiki we learn in the West is more focused on healing than spiritual development.
WHAT IT IS
The word Reiki itself refers to the energy rather than the healing modality (which is properly known as Usui Reiki Ryoho but most commonly referred to as just Reiki). You'll see different translations of the word Reiki as there isn't a direct comparable in English, but the most common are 'universal/spiritually guided life force energy'.
Reiki is the energy in the universe that we're all connected to, that we all come from. The healing modality is using this energy to affect or work with the life force energy in the body, known as Ki in Japan, Qi in China and Prana in India.
HOW IT WORKS
As the practitioner you channel Reiki through your body, out your hands and into your receiver, where it breaks up and clears out blocked and stagnant energy. This restores physical, mental and emotional balance and wellbeing and gives a feeling of peace and vitality. It's natural, gentle and non-invasive and can be hands on or hands off or be delivered at distance.
Reiki treats the whole being, bringing mind, body and spirit into balance and creates space for transformation. It supports the immune system and the ability to cope with every day stresses. Although it's usually offered as a way to relax and release stress, many people experience profound healings.
Reiki can also support the body through other treatment methods, increasing the capacity to cope with interventions and helping you stay calm, clear and grounded.
WESTERN vs JAPANESE REIKI
There are many different styles of Reiki that have been developed by different people, mostly in the last 40 years, and they're all available to learn. Japanese Reiki is traditional Reiki, taught as closely as possible to what Mikao Usui taught. Western Reiki is more modern Reiki, most of which falls under the lineage of Hawayo Takata who brought Reiki to the West. It has less focus on spiritual development and many branches include new age practices.
My personal view is that traditional Japanese Reiki, which is as close to what Usui taught as possible, is an essential foundation for any Reiki practitioner so it's the basis of what I teach in my trainings.
YOU CAN DO IT TOO!
You'll be able to do Reiki effectively after just one workshop. It can be hard to wrap your head around but learning Reiki is unlike anything you've learnt before. Knowledge is not important. You don't need to know or learn anything, you're not better at it when you know more or work harder - the opposite of the Western approach to learning!
Reiki is a skill you already have. We're all born with the ability to harness universal energy and use it. But most of us don't, it's not something we do in our culture. All the stuff that happens to us, all the conditioning, trauma and limiting beliefs we have cloud that connection to source and it's harder for us to access our natural healing abilities.
What happens in a Reiki training isn't really about learning. it's about clearing all that stuff that's blocking or limiting your connection to source. When we clear that out of the way, you can do Reiki. We'll also learn techniques to help you use Reiki effectively and techniques to keep that connection to source strong and clear and I include ongoing support to ensure you feel confident as a Reiki practitioner.
IT'S IMPORTANT TO FIND THE RIGHT TEACHER
Over the last decade I've taken multiple Reiki trainings with a variety of teachers and they've all been very different. I've definitely gotten more from some teachers than others.
My checklist for finding the right teacher is:
Do you resonate with them
Are they teaching the style of Reiki you want to learn
Have they got enough experience to make you feel confident
Are they offering support outside of class
When I first became a Reiki Master in 2013 I assumed I'd been taught everything I needed to know and it wasn't until I took it upon myself to learn more that I realized there was a whole lot more out there than I'd been led to believe.
This initial training was in Western Reiki (although it was positioned as traditional) and I went on to train in Japanese Reiki and Jikiden Reiki and am certified to teach both Western and Japanese styles.
Personally I resonate much more with the Japanese understanding of and approach to Reiki so this is predominantly what I teach. But there is also a lot of goodness in Western Reiki so I include some of these teachings too.
My view is that Japanese Reiki gives the best foundational training with Western offering some great ways to amplify that. My goal is to give you a rounded education and flexibility to choose the path that resonates with you (including the blended path).
I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TRAINING
Lots of people take a Reiki training but never do anything with it after leaving class - I don't want that for you! Reiki is a practice and you'll get so much out of it if you simply do it on yourself every day, even for just a few minutes.
You'll learn how to give yourself a treatment in class (it's super easy) and working on yourself is one of the keys to experiencing all the benefits of your training.
To make sure you get the most out of your training I send you daily support emails for 3 weeks after your Reiki 1 or 2 training to help you integrate Reiki into your life.
I host Reiki Shares, events where we come together and exchange Reiki together with me on hand to guide, support and answer questions (these are online events at the moment).
I also have a private Facebook group for my students where you can stay connected to the friends you make in class, find people to exchange Reiki with, ask all your questions and I'll answer them.
